The 5 Commands (Gamerules) That Will Save Your Server from Chaos

You Are the God of Your World: Use It

Default Minecraft can be cruel: you die and lose your entire inventory in lava, or a Creeper explodes right at your front door, destroying hours of hard work.

But as the administrator of your server at Mineando, you have the power to change the laws of the game's physics. This is done through "Gamerules".

Here are the 5 most useful ones you should activate as soon as you create your server.

How to Activate Them

You have two ways:

  1. In-game: If you are an Operator (OP), open the chat and type the command.
  2. From the Panel: Go to the "Console" tab in Mineando and type the command (without the forward slash /).

1. The Lifesaver: KeepInventory

This is the most searched-for rule in history. If dying and losing your diamonds frustrates you, turn it on. When you die, you’ll respawn with all your armor and items intact.

  • Command: /gamerule keepInventory true

2. Anti-Grief: MobGriefing

Do you hate Creepers making holes in your garden or Endermen stealing your dirt blocks? With this rule, monsters will still damage you, but they won't be able to break or move blocks.

  • Command: /gamerule mobGriefing false

3. Control Time: DoDaylightCycle

Ideal if you're building a lobby or preparing an adventure map and want it to be always daytime (or always nighttime) so zombies don't bother you.

  • Step 1: Set the time you want (e.g., /time set day).
  • Step 2: Freeze time with /gamerule doDaylightCycle false.

4. Goodbye Phantoms: DoInsomnia

Phantoms (the ghosts that attack if you don't sleep) are, for many, the most annoying mob in the game. If you want to play in peace without having to hunt for wool for beds, disable them.

  • Command: /gamerule doInsomnia false (Only for versions 1.15+)

5. Clean Chat: AnnounceAdvancements

If there are many of you playing, the chat gets filled with spam every time someone does something basic: "Player has made the advancement 'Sweet Dreams'". To keep the chat strictly for talking, hide these messages.

  • Command: /gamerule announceAdvancements false

Conclusion

A well-configured server is a happy server. Don't be afraid to use the Mineando console. These commands don't require installing plugins or mods—they're built into the game and work on any of our plans (from 2GB to 12GB).
